Putting My Experience
Throughout my 18 years of experience as a real estate investor and consultant here in New Orleans, I have developed my ability to collaborate with various minded people through moderating, listening, learning, succeeding, failing miserably at times, and finding ways to stand back up and succeed again. More specifically, my experiences managing real estate investments for my group has developed my eye for judging the developing future. It has also provided me with opportunities to work through complex problems and forced me to develop real solutions that move us forward using action-based research, unemotional fact-checking, and utilizing more than just my own personal ideas to achieve a desired final outcome.
I have always appreciated the unique perspective life has afforded me on societal situations, both in the past and now in the present, as I come from the two ethnically different backgrounds that are at the center of America’s racially fueled struggle. In my lifetime, I have had the opportunity to grow up with and create valuable life experiences with both the affluent in our community and those with lesser perceived financial options. Those experiences have shaped my perception of how government programs and offerings should work, and for whom they should most work for. This puts my voice in a prized position to be an asset to both the city council and the community at-large.
